After the crazy 20+ book January, this list seems really short. I blame it on Spanish.

1. Nick Reding, Methland: The Death and Life of an American Small Town
2. Sherwood Anderson, Winesburg, Ohio
3. Jim Butcher, Side Jobs: Stories from the Dresden Files
4. Sean McMullen, Souls in the Great Machine
5. Isaac Bashevis Singer, Shosha
6. Emma Bull, Bone Dance

Stupeur et tremblements! We recently finished the same author's Métaphysique des tubes in my French class and I very nearly got Stupeur out of the library (story of my life apparently) as it seems to be kinda sorta a sequel of sorts. I imagine I would only find it okay, too, but I still might read it once classes are out. My French is not so hot but I find Nothomb's writing very easy to follow.

Yeah, oddly enough, Stupeur is a reread, I just had to ease myself into French, and I remembered reading it years ago and finding it easy. I got a couple of her other books out of the library. Got some Georges Simenon's Maigret books as well -- also pretty easy and fun, since it's mystery novels.
