I am now done with finals, on to neurotic obsessions with grades

I'm done with finals. I get neurotic and look at my grades over and over again. They're coming out next week with any luck. I hope to god I pass that english class. I'm nervous about that one. The rest are fine. I passed my work in progress course in my sleep. Writing essays is not my strength. It feels like a huge let down. Honestly, I feel good ( Read more... )

Good luck with those grades!!!

Regarding your comment at Psychicworkshop about the fire. It was a brush fire (farmers/ranchers/somebody burning brush). There was a paved road, but there was no fire-fighting involved. Just some idiots burning off their brush who were too stupid to call in and let the Sheriff's office know what they were doing. They would have been burning in a field and I'm sure there was grass all around since we've had lots of rain lately. So, I say, not bad!!!!!!

Wow, I had no idea. I'm so grateful I got it right. Okay, I know that I had two choices, paved and unpaved road. Thanks for your comment Genie.

hope the grades work out. Now get your bicycle or put on your shoes and go to the library- check out a classic you haven't read yet (machiavelli's the price, plato's republic, something like that) as well as a health book and a stack of veg out books- among mysteries, try authors like Rita Mae Brown, William Kienzle, Lilian Jackson Braun, and Susan Conant ( ... )

Yeah, I use the local library alot.

On the other hand, there is such thing as parks, walking, etc. Money need not be spent on many things.

sure, parks are a good place to get rid of stale bread, old popcorn or breakfast cereal- birds and suirrels are happy to have it. Our small town has free tennis courts in the park that are rarely in use-we enjoy those.
Of course, parks are also good for sitting under a tree reading or writing.

Years ago, before I got into health food, I was sitting in a park eating my dinner before night classes. I had a bag of food from McDonalds. A squirrel, obviously used to being fed, came near me. I thought and decided squirrels were vegetarian, so I broke off a piece of my apple pie and offerred it to him. He leaned forward, sniffed it thoroughly, and rejected it. Made me think he was probably smarter than I was.

I forgot how useful parks were. You're of course, right about that fairly obscure. What a wonderful suggestion. I will tan and go read out in the park. Too bad you can't wear bathing suits at the parks near my house though. At least I'm too dang modest. I thought you only wore bathing suits at the pool.
