Regarding the colours, white is the traditional racing colour for Germany, but silver is more commonly used because Mercedes used to leave their race cars unpainted to save weight. So, similar to how all Italian cars are shown in red and almost all British cars are shown in dark green, German cars are almost always shown in silver or white, just as a matter of tradition.

But I agree 100%, this car really needs to be in a dark colour. Someone at VW didn't get the message that if silver/white is going to be the default "showcase" colour, the car needs to actually look good when painted silver or white :-P

Not surprised they're building it in Chattanooga since they build Komatsu heavy equipment, Lightspeed titanium bikes, forge iron, and a ton of other stuff in the city as well. Nice to see the city keeping up expansion.

As for the car... from the front wheel back it looks nice, if a bit BMWish. Forward of that though, it got beat with the ugly stick. Seems to be a Cadillac influence there...ugh

I believe they've said there will be no wagon for the American Market

Though the Jetta SportWagen has been selling so well I hope they reconsider
