You know the best thing about online articles? The comments. For example, I was reading the one about biracial Americans and then I read this comment: "A child gets it blood from it's father, so if its father is white. then the child is considered white.
If the father is black then the child is considered black." And I started laughing and forgot any intelligent thought I may have had on the subject.

Also, for the incest case: is it wrong that my only thought is "well, the "he is old enough to be your father!" sentence takes all its true meaning there!". And the lawyer obviously meant: "if those gay people can fuck each other in the ass in the privacy of their home, I don't see why it's a problem if my client wants to fuck the vagina of his daughter in the privacy of their home!" Or something. (we all know the only acceptable incest is brotherly incest, dammit!)

That article from Time.com is missing a rather obvious point: if you look vaguely non-white, and you live in the US, you'll be considered non-white. Most biracial people, myself included, whether they have light-skinned privilege or no, don't have the option of passing. I have white friends who tan darker than my natural skin tone, but I'd need to at the very least straighten my hair and get a nose job in order to actually pass for white.

Perhaps I'm misreading, perhaps they just mean people who could easily pass. Ugh, idk, I have a knee-jerk agression towards anyone who implies biracial kids are somehow misusing their racial identity.

i think you make a great point actually. my interpretation of the article was "people who could easily pass", but perhaps the writers didn't take your point into consideration when writing this article?
