yeh breaking the fourth wall makes me quite uncomfortable, and i don't like blatant fanservice of any kind. give me all the subtext and hidden allusions, don't spoonfeed me and definitely don't cater to fandom's every whim, y'know what i mean?

i'm going to try and be positive b/c overall i enjoyed "monster at the end of the book" and the convention ep, even though i did facepalm and cringe a fair amount of times. we'll just have to wait and seeeeeeeeeeeee.

Dude, so I do not do spoilers but Bekah knows how to taunt me ("OMG This spoiler is awful, I've lost all faith in that show, do you want me to tell you?" I obviously can't refuse) and wow. Worst idea they have ever had.

As you said, the episode might be kind of funny in a blatant not-subtle kind of way, and I may enjoy it a bit but it makes me loose faith on, you know, the integrity of the show? Remember when they were telling a story and not going for the "gigglesnort-look-what-we-did-thaaare" factor every two episodes?

The only thing that could redeem the concept of this episode was if it was an episode à la "It's a Terrible Life", to show the boys that there are worse things than being hunters: they could be married to Genevieve Cortese!

haha of course bekah would say that to break your will :D i completely understand what you mean by the integrity of the show. putting in a few fandom jokes once in a blue moon is acceptable but going further than that just makes it awkward and uncomfortable.

heh, i imagine there will be a line or two like that once they return from TVland. i predict dean will say "at least you're not married to ruby lookalike!" and that'll spark another round of wank in fandom between protesters and those who agree :P
