if i'm remembering my woodworking classes correctly isnt a ryoba saw a japanese saw that cuts on the pull stroke as opposed to the push stroke that most western saws are designed as their base
You are remembering right. I think we tried it because it would be easier for me to handle, but my research supports pull saws as being common in that part of northern Europe during that time frame.

No Mal for me, I pick up the munchkin at 7pm, and have to work tomorrow. I hope to make it to Ruin or Bunker again soon, though.
