interested in 1st edition D&D?

I was recently considering the changes they've made in 4th edition D&D -- let's face it: they dumbed it down to the point of idiocy. I can see where they were coming from, given how fucking bloated D&D3.5 was, but come on, they removed a lot of the shit that made it cool. you can't even pretend you had some control over your character's abilities ( Read more... )

oh my god, that sounds amazing. can you still get 1st edition player's handbooks? COULD THEY BE ON THE INTERNET SOMEWHERE??

When I first started gaming, I was against the old type of D and D with its seeming arbitrariness, but as a fantasy-novel-simulator, it makes a great deal of sense. I'd think about getting in on that shit, were I not in NYC.
