Cruel Superstar Show of Vileness

... Wow. Has anyone seen WB's Superstar USA? My siblings just informed me of this... It's a bit like American/Canadian Idol, where ambitious young singers audition and try to become the next superstar... but little do they know that they're looking for the worst singer ever. The performers only sing in front of the three judges and no audience ( ( Read more... )

See, I saw Superstar USA for about 10 minutes once. Awful show. Egging people on to humiliate themselves in front of growing crowds. Building them up just to tear them down. And they say Simon Cowell is cruel.

Shielding Is Fine... anonymous June 14 2004, 23:20:51 UTC
For the most part, I think blocking aerials are fine in Melee, 'cause even if they L-cancel and such, your shield-grab should be faster 90% of the time.

This is, of course, much different in original, where the z-cancel totally nullifies lag and thus they can z-cancel grab much faster than you can shield-grab.

Rolling takes awhile too.

Another method would be to WD out of range, let them land their hit, and WD in for an attack during their move lag (L-cancelled or not) =P

That would be a viable alternative too...if one could learn to wave dash heh. I dunno, but it seemed really hard when I tried it, and I don't know anyone else who can pull it off semi-consistently. [except for maybe you and Duy] Perhaps next we play Smash, you guys should teach us all how to wave dash lol. It seems like it would be really useful if you could get the hang of it. But then again, I still haven't gotten the hang of using standing dodges in combat yet. =/

You can standing dodge in GX!

...well technically its driving dodge, but it still involves holding a button while pressing a direction! So we should play GX!

It's now reached one month! I think it's justified to pester Duy to post.

Unfortunately, your pester ball seems to have no effect. Maybe you should try throwing an apple at him, or playing your pokeflute. :)

(btw, I still think we should play Snap again, at least to show David.)

On this Friday the Thirteenth, it is with tears in my eyes that I announce the two month mark in the absence of a new post in your lj.

It's been two months; your quota is due!
