Oh, Tales of Symphonia...

Mmm, Tales of Symphonia's so great... I've been playing that with my friends quite a lot lately; we've finally reached Disc 2 (yes, it's a two-disc Game Cube RPG), although I think we're overleveled. =P We didn't really try to hunt high exp monsters to level, but we often fought monsters as we were wandering around while lost, or sometimes we ( Read more... )

Oooh, an update! anonymous September 3 2004, 14:02:33 UTC
ToS certainly sounds fun =P Indignation is like Luminaire eh? May be wicked but you know what happens in Chrono Trigger after you get it right? Luminaire. Luminaire. And Luminaire again =P

Jia probably will try to spam Indignation, but in the Tales series, spells have casting times. =P It's also a real-time game rather than turn based (or active time battle)... Many high-level spells take so long that you might be able to get it in once during a normal battle before the melees kill all the enemies, if even. =P

And if the mage is hit, his/her spell's usually interrupted... and bosses are smart about this, often attacking the mages with long range attacks or teleport attacks, so yeah... =P

ooh, another update.. baomon September 3 2004, 15:07:15 UTC
All my subject lines will start with "ooh another update" :P

I agree, Tales is pretty awesome. I'll blog about it today or tomorrow as well. Anyway, my idea is to start a new game with Jason and/or Wen, and/or Alan, since we've already done the first disc, so we'll keep Alan until we get to the 2nd disc, and hope he doesn't spoil anything, although the risk is high.

With the new game, I'll try using different characters, and maybe head toward T-type rather than S-type or whatever (more on that in my blog later), or maybe we can play under-leveled, although that might not be a good experience for Jason/Wen. But if we do have a permanent 4-player group, we probably won't be able to get together thaaat often, but that's okay.

We'll probably have to buy another beast memory card now...

Yeah, well, if I do play, I just probably won't say anything so that there's no chance that I'll spoil something. I rather enjoyed the battle system when I played it for that one bit, the only thing I didn't really like about the game is the stuff that I haven't seen...but I'd still want to play it with Wen/Jason or whoever anyways.

-btw, nice to see that you're finally updating again. :)

And your favourite cube purchase since SSBM? That's pretty cool...seeing how many games you bought in between.
