Entry: The Thirty-Eighth-- Bearing the Rings, Pt. 2

My mind’s eye is having problems.

No matter how hard I try to change my view, I continue to picture hobbits looking like those furry little critters from Mercer Mayer books.* I know this is vastly wrong. Hobbits have only hairy feet. Critters have hair covering their entire bodies. Hobbits deal with problems like The Great Darkness and the ( Read more... )

see, since the second part of that equation is only in alex's head, therefore you=badass lotr elf iff viewer=alex. if {viewer | everyone excluding alex}, you=keebler elf

Heh, logic equations in my LiveJournal. I'm impressed. But to be technically accurate, Charlie = badass LotR elf iff (viewer = Alex + Alex doesn't know of Orlando Bloom). For the very point I was making was that even my oh-so-creative mind can't imagine Legolas as a Keebler Elf (and by extension, I guess, Legolas as Charlie), when confronted with the contrary image of Orlando Bloom.

Oh, Keebler. Don't be getting delusions, now. Just stick to your cookies and you'll be just fine. :-)...

legolas is pretty damned old. you don't get to be his age without baking a few cookies. and yeah, thank god Orlando Bloom looks so damn funny. mmmmm, funny.

and by "distinctive masculine characteristics," do you just mean penises (peni)?

i think otherwise you would be trying to impose gender stigmas on MIddle Earth that did not exist. Merry is a guy. Legolas is a guy. Eowyn is a guy. have you met the dwarf women yet?

Eowyn is so *not* a guy! In fact, it's a rather crucial plot point that she's not!

Ewwww, no, could you please take your mind out of the gutter just for a little while? Forget I said anything about "distinctive masculine characteristics". Let's pretend I merely said "stereotypical male gender roles". Nothing at all to do with hobbit anatomy.

And I don't appreciate you trying to confuse me about Eowyn either. It's hard enough to keep track of all these many characters without your pesky meddling.
