So the flat flooded this morning. SO NOT how I planned to start my day. What the fuck else can go wrong in this place?

Maybe it drowned some of the mice :)

It's the drains. We've let maintainance know about six or seven times that our showers don't drain properly. This morning the tray of both showers were still full of water from last night. Then we discovered water out in the hall and in the toilets.

All sorted now, but I love how it required a flood before they came to do anything!

I have spent the afternoon doing a major mouse vs kitchen clean up here. It's hideous, isn't it? Mouse shit everywhere. Yuck.

To have the place flooded as well? Would have been unbearable.

The mice here are driving me mad, so I completely sympathize with you! I think it's a battle we are finally winning though *fingers crossed*

And yes, having the drains pack up just added to the fun. That does seem to be sorted now though. Hoping it's all better from here!

I'm being a major crankypants at a member of my household who, upon discovering that mice had chewed through a plastic bag to eat the tasty Stuff inside the bag, put the whole mess into another plastic bag. Then, when the mice went through the second bag, did it again! This person has a freaking PhD, but you can't freaking tell! Argh! Fail, housemate, fail.

Our cat is all casual about this. "Mice? Sure, thanks for laying on the mobile snacks. Very considerate of you." I just wish the cat was quicker about wiping the colony out.

Oh dear. That's so awful I just had to laugh! At least everyone in out flat is now working together to get rid of the problem. As much as we can when the've infested the whole damn building. We've had pest control people in and out for weeks.

We've been thinking we should get a cat. It's a no pets place, but we're tempted to just argue "hey, someone is keeping mice!"

Yes it is the student housing. I have about six weeks left here and I am counting down the minutes!! Only problem is that I have to have the damn dissertation done before I can leave *wails and stamps feet*

Thank you for cute Merlin. *licks*

I feel gallows optimism is all that is left to me. *sob* Get me out of here!

Problem is, what with counting down the days, is that I move out the day after the dissy goes in. So while seeing time pass is positive for the move, it's also stressful. GAH
