Like things you forgot you had that you find broken in the darkest corners of your garage. Things you cared little enough about that you’d totally forgotten they existed yet are now so heartbroken to know that they are really gone, for real and for good. Nice post, in a melancholiated metaphyics of existentialism way, a bit of a twist on the "don't miss your water 'til its gone" theme. I know what you mean, its weird how you can suddenly care about someone(thing) that you had discarded long ago. I would guess it has some smidge of "there but for the grace of god go I" to it, and maybe a tint of unadulterated nostalgia. But what do I know. I'm just reciting aphorisms cribbed from Dr. Phil. (Would I crib a cribber? You bet.)
