Gleek-On Time!
Yesterday I went to the Gleek-On Sydney convention where Harry Shum Jr, Kevin McHale, Ashley Fink, and Dot Jones were guests. I had a fabulous time (even if I was exhausted by the end of the night and still am this morning!), I'll do a proper recap later since I was at the VIP function Friday night, had breakfast with them on Saturday (I sat across from Dot and next to Kevin, who sat next to Harry - I don't think I would have coped if I sat next to Harry! *thud*), and then of course the con itself during the day yesterday which includes photo sesssions, Q&As and autograph session.
For now I'm just going to post my pics to tide you guys over, since we all know how long it takes me to post con recaps (now that I think about it, I don't think I've posted my BFF recap or a proper TVD recap from last year either...Oops? (Although I did post a TVD semi-recap for Portrait, and that had enough details in it.) But I will say something about each of the guests:
Kevin is also known as Kevin McTroll because he trolls Tumblr, Twitter etc to see what the fans say and shows the rest of the cast. You have all been warned! :P "Trolling in the deep...". He sees everything except for fan fiction - "Uh, well I don’t read fan fiction. I mean, I read the first two sentences and I stopped. The titles scare me away.”
Ashley also made a reference to Tumblr when she was asked what was it like filming the Lucy Caboosey scenes with Quinn/Dianna. She responded with "Let's talk about it Tumblr! That's right I'm calling you out!" LoL. I'm not sure exactly what she's referring to, because I kind of steer away from the Glee online fandom, but seeing as how batshit crazy the fandom can get, I can guess. :D
Ashley is HILARIOUS! My face hurt so much from after her Q&A because I was laughing so much and so hard! From her ghetto persona Shontel to her hilarious story about her weirdest fan encounter about a guy spotting her and getting excited WHILE he was being ARRESTED down her street! "Think about your life choices man!'
Dot is an absolute sweetheart and so generous with her time. She didn't know she was nominated for an Emmy until she landed in Sydney and turned on her phone. She was still in shock yesterday too. She also told us a funny story about how she pretended to be an old lady when a telemarketer called her. I would love to try that one day that's for sure!
Harry, Harry, Harry, why so pretty? I loved you before I met you, but I even more in love with you now. He seemed a little shy at first but warmed up and did two moves for us, one called 'isolation' where he just sat in the chair and did some crazy thing with the upper half of his body that looked like 20 different moves put together. DAMN! I also mentioned that we did a phone interview almost 2 years ago, and he said he remembered me. I'm not sure if he was saying that just to be nice, but whatever. Man, so hard not to make a complete idiot of myself in front of him!
Anyway onto the pics. They're only from the first 5 mins of each talk and I'm tagging them since this is a public post and I don't want people stealing my pics to claim them as their own. I paid good money for my awesome front row tickets.
Personal pics. Honestly, I don't really like my Kevin and Harry ones - the guys look great but my hair's a bit ugh after getting lost trying to find the place after breakfast. I do however love my Ashley pic, and like my Dot pic and like my fun group pic. :)
