Day One Down!
Ok. College = WONDERFUL!
First up was linguistics, awesome subject in and of itself. My teacher got us started thinking about what linguistics is, how it can be used and pointing out that all us creative types will probably not do well whereas the analytical will kick ass.
God, I love a challenge.
Next was Native American Lit. Again, awesome subject matter and my teacher is the coolest thing on two legs.
Well. One of them.
He told the class, flat-out, that if we couldn't handle the words, 'fuck,' 'masturbation,' or 'dildo,' we should leave now. They will be appearing in the text. He also said that if you can't attend regularly (Read: if you're going to miss more than four days) or can't stand to hear Christianity talked about negatively, leave.
Nobody did. This will be interesting.
Lunch. Nothing important. Moving on.
Comparitive study of religion came next. I'm already ahead of the class because I've studied on my own all of the relations we're going to be covering.
My teacher. Is. Anthony Rapp.
I swear, he is.
Last class was culture and the Holocaust. Within five minutes, one of the teachers almost had me sympathetic with Hitler. If only he would have made it into art school...
Fun doesn't end there.
I'd started off the day mopey because I didn't get called back on the job in the LGBTRC. I got back to my room and there was a note sitting on my computer.
"Ashley, call Katie."
I. Got. The job.
And work-study money, which I would not have gotten otherwise.
In other words? Today. Rocked.
