Anyone have a way to dump a PS2 memory card?

Action Replay MAX, instead of backing up my card, seems to have corrupted it.

I really don't want to lose the hojillion hours on there, especially since I BOUGHT THE STUPID AR MAX TO BACK IT UP. Sigh.

(AR Max now shows no data on the card, but shows that it's mostly full.)

Get Linux running on your PS2.

Double plus sold out, it seems?

Hrm. Well, that's how Prof Cyganski got a hexdump of his son's Gamecube save card. He did the ol' "take-advantage-of-a-buffer-overflow-in-Phantasy-Star-Online-to-install-linux" trick.

Well, conceivably you could get a heatgun and a USB flash drive, extract the flash chips from the card, put them in the drive, sacrifice a chicken, and use DD to get the data out.

That would be horrible, and if it worked, would no doubt open a rip in the very fabric of the universe.

You could get something like this http://www.superufo.com/product_html/Playstation_2_PS2_USB_Memory_Adaptor.html

I don't know if that works, or is useful for dumping memory cards.

I've seen that adapter (although for much less) elsewhere and it requires a separate USB cable (not included) that nobody seems to stock.

At this point it's mostly completed games (sigh) and 20 hours of FF12. I may buy a SwapMagic and see if there's some homebrew to fix it...
