I remember the weird shell shock vibe at the lodge. We all sat there drinking and decompressed.

I was living in Seattle with jonah777. One of our cars was in the shop, so I was getting ready to take him to work (crack of dawn construction hours.) We were out of coffee creamer, so he went to the store and heard the initial report on the radio--the one where it was unclear that the plane was a jet and not some small, private plane. We heard the rest of the report in pieces, since we didn't want to have the news on while his son was in the car (he was 6.) I was in the car on the way home when the towers fell, and I had to pull over because I couldn't concentrate on the road. I ended up going in to the office that day, but I didn't get any work done. I mostly wandered around shocked or read the latest news on the net. I'm pretty sure that most people were fairly useless at my office that day.

I remember how pissed off and freaked out we were.

I remember listening to the NPR station and then cranking Slayer until I could get to SML.

I remember hoping Horus would destroy the ones behind this.

I remember hoping that we might finally have a national conversation about our foreign policy now that we had suffered such a horrible blowback.
