As soon as I've posted this, I'm going to read your reviews.
Here's the usual list.
1. Mandatory squee at seeing Jack in a suit. *drools* He looked so good!
2. Jack. I'm sorry, but your plans usually suck. And Juliet is right: where the f*ck are you going a day after an abdominal surgery?? *facepalm*
3. However, that turned into an AWESOME idea as soon as they met Sawyer. Woman, take the baby and get back to the beach, and let our favourite pair do the job! FINALLY! They have some scenes together! Doing something, in their usual a-time fashion! Thank you!
squeeworthy subpoints of this:
- 3a. Jack being angry at Sawyer because he left him them. Aww.
- 3b. Jack and Sawyer butting heads again. Welcome back, UST!
- 3c. Sawyer teasing Jack about sounding like a broken record. lol.
- 3d. Sawyer saying "that son of a bitch is stubborn", and then trailing after him. Thank you, Sawyer, for keeping my OTP alive! I know you love that stubborn jackass!
- 3e. Jack saying "Son of a bitch" again. Hee. He's picking up all Sawyer's bad habits. If he starts with nicknames, we know the personality transplant is complete.
- 3f. Sawyer being worried about Hugo. Aw. It's so nice to know that at least one of the characters has real feelings for other people.
Let's get to the other characters, now.
4. Sun rocked this epi.
I loved her "We are in shock, Jack". Because, she is so right. And she has just lost her husband, in case you forgot.
Then, "Can't we just call?". Of course, that would've been too simple, but still, it's refreshing when someone points out something that normal people would say. It's usually Hurley, but this time it was Sun, and I loved her for it.
And then I loved her again when it turned out she had bought a considerable share of her father's company. Revenge is good, even if unhealthy. I just hope she is not going to turn into her father.
However, who else thought it was Widmore or Ben the one using "5 different banks" at first?
5. The reunion with the families made me sob, for real. Hurley's parents in particular, they are so naive, but ultimately they really love him.
Hurley is ♥
I loved how he pulled Sayid towards his family, sensing that no one was there for him.(While nobody - not Hurley, and not even Jack - did the same for Kate, HA! Sorry. I'm evil, I know.)
And, this time, I even liked Jack's mom, in a way. She seemed to genuinely love him, and he needed that.
6. I liked Juliet again, trying to reason with Jack, even if it was useless.
7. Daniel knew about the secondary plan. interesting. Since I don't think he was considered trustworthy enough, I bet he knew that through traveling in time. Also, I loved that he picked up the role of ferrying people back and forth, and his nod to Desmond. It seemed kind of heroic, for such a shy and awkward guy.
8. So, they really did say that Aaron was Kate's baby. Urgh.
9. Sayid is going to get hurt, right? In the picture taken when they were leaving the rubber boat it looked like he was leaning on Kate.
10. So, who are the two bodies? They keep talking about 8 survivors, 2 of whom died. I guess it's because they found the bodies. But I might be imagining it. We knew one of them couldn't be Jin because of the date on the grave. I'm guessing Michael... and Desmond? Even if I hope not.
11. Nadia! SHE found him, instead of the other way around. That was unexpected, and I loved it. Sayid needed a bit of love, too. Even if that kiss was a bit weird.
12. Hurley, Ben and Locke - comic trio part 2. "How are we going to move it?" "Very carefully". LOL
"I wasn't entirely truthful" "And when are you?" LOL. (though, really, John, that means you should've known!)
13. It was nice to see that they kept in touch, first at Hurley's birthday and then at Christian's funeral.
I loved that little exchange between Sayid and Hurley at the party: "My mom really doesn't get it, dude". And I was so sad for Hurley and his dad - he was trying, poor guy.
14. Michael meeting Sun and Jin. Whooops.
But how nice that Jin now understands him. It brought their interaction to a new level. I think they are almost slashable, since I've seen them in the same scene for no more than 15 seconds and I'm already thinking about it, while finding neither of them particularly attractive (even if the actors are both good looking)
15. Richard is back! Will we know more about him?
16. FINALLY someone told Jack about his half-sister. Though, really, how could Claire's mom miraculously be out of the coma? *shakes head*
And, also, I was right! (let me flaunt about this a bit, since it almost never happens!) Jack knew about it when he refused to go with Kate after the trial, and when he threw that in Kate's face when they fought. I'm so glad that he did, even if that makes his behaviour even harsher, but so human, and in character for him.
I'm quite drained now, I'm dreading yet another angsty finale, but, of course, I also loved this episode.
