A/N: A drabble for queen aboutbunnies who asked for Hurley & Sawyer and queen alliecat8, who wanted someone doing something nice. Sorry, this turned angsty.
He didn’t envy Sun, no. He was sorry for her terrible loss. But he wished he could cry and shout too.
He was the heaviest on the chopper, as everyone’s eyes reminded him. But he wasn’t a hero, just a normal fat guy with a curse.
He knew Sawyer didn’t like to be thanked.
But he hadn’t even looked at him. He would have liked a small nod, a wave, anything, before he jumped. Instead, Sawyer had just whispered a few words to Kate, kissed her, and then he was gone.
It wasn’t a short swim to the island, but if anyone could survive, Sawyer could, Hurley told himself. First the plane and then the raft: the ocean wasn’t Sawyer’s enemy.
But none of this bullshit was helping Hurley feel better.
He wouldn’t have asked for a hug, no. Hurley knew that Sawyer didn’t do hugs.
Except when he did.
