So, I ploughed ahead and picked ip the T-Mobile web'n'walk package, and card. It arrived Saturday morning, and I eagerly tore the packaging off, and grabbed the card... only to discover it was a CardBus card. Cardbus is PCMCIA Type 2.1, introduced in 1995, and widely available from 1997. That's 10 years ago ( Read more... )

What's a 'PC card'? Doesn't that cover the entire range from PCMCIA type I up to ExpressCard?

They will refund me, thankfully. I've got a SIM card for it, yes, but I haven't found anything that will 'do me' for it to plug into. *sulks*

None that I know of. It seems this whole 'cutting edge communications technology' thing has rather missed the point of what it's likely to be plugged into.

That's just stupid on T-Mobiles front. Haven't they heard of technology evolution? ... and "...get a another laptop..."? WTF! Slap in the face for T-Mobile Luddites.
