i think you really hit the nail on the head. just perfectly beautiful! you really should read tale of genji, youll get some great ideas.

these are what holidays should be.
also, i hav a strong affection for May 1st and have always secretly celebrated it in my mind, so i would love to share that day with others. bouquets of flowers, picnics in the park, ribbons, braids, fun crafts. thats what i always want to do on may 1st. in the name of fertility!

cory, this makes me want to live in the House more than anything. it makes me want to begin a new community that would be dedicated in seeing these kinds of things through.. ahh! it will happen too!

Haha erin you are so cool. It's always been my biggest ambition to bring this lifestyle about...just that big kitchen and the hallways that lead up to it full of tiny, blue, guest bedrooms...and the hallway floors would be cool and wooden.

ANYWAY! Yeah, I think you get what I have in my head. At least in terms of culture.

OOH!

You know what's missing? (alot, really I don't have a single middle-eastern festival...maybe for the first of may, we could do henna and fill the bathrooms with the leftover flowers from the Kuan Yin festival, and I'd cook hummous and fish and pilaf, and we'd open all the windows and air out the house and drive out the winter demons with burning myrrh incense! And then we'd go and have a lovely picnic type thing. Anyway your festival sounds more like may-day, which would definitely be more european than middle-eastern. But I think it could jive.
