I'm one of those people who is constantly aware that they suck. And I suck a lot, especially compared to what I'd like to be. I don't mind --it drives me to keep working, keep improving.

I bet everyone in Idol can relate to this piece. :) Great job!

Figuring out what the message of a work is when you're writing it is often really hard - because a lot of the time it just comes down to "I felt like making a thing" or "I like this kind of thing and wanted to do it myself". But it's true, you need to have more to it - more heart, more feeling, more something - if it's going to really draw other people in. I'm a big fan of playing around with things and doing stuff even if you don't think it'll be All That And A Bag of Chips (tm) or the next great whatever, because too often the search for perfection and deep meaning also keeps us away from creating. It's hard stuff to navigate, and I appreciate seeing your own struggle with it and hearing your process. :)

It's hard, and necessary, to realize where you actually are - if you don't know where you are, you can't know where you've (actually) been and where you're (actually) going. It goes for any endeavor, and the important thing is to pick yourself up and continue pursuing it!
