Dresses update

The red linen is nearly finished. I have to put the lacing rings on and then hem it. Sleeves still to do, although worked out exactly which design I will do. The velvet turns out to be velveteen, but still a good buy.. and still a good dress

Overlocker = GOOD!

i still don't know the difference between velvet and velveteen...
glad to hear it's all coming along nicely!
i want an overlocker...

Ovewrlocker is your friend. Even laurels use one - I know, I've seen it.

You can always sew down the seam allowances later, but you need the overlocking goodness for the velveteen, it is is hell otherwise.

And I overlock/sew/something all raw edges because once I wash anything, I have fray city.
