Christmas Eve, and I'm still not feeling particularly Christmasy. Its not like me, since I /love/ Christmas, but... it just seems to be the flavor of the year, this year. Usually I'm happily indulging in my favorite Christmas cd (complete with the obligatory track by my favorite boyband ;) Bah. I have decided to be the grinch this year

I personally have discovered that I dislike strangers even more. I just don't want to make chitchat with people older than me who have nothing in common with me beyond a helpless shit-eating grin created by the alcoholic moose-milk.

*snicker* Yeah, I can certainly sympathize with that. Nothing says the Holidays quite like inane babble with someone you've never met before. Its even better because its nearly a social obligation to be polite and make small talk.

I agree totally but read my LJ to see why. all I seem to do this holiday is cry. but you know what I will live and btw Happy Holiday even though you are being Grinchy.

This just seems to be a particularly bad year for everyone. The way I look at it, things can't stay this bad forever. Its, more or less, a statistical impossibility. This doesn't help in a situation where you're doing the best you can and it doesn't feel like enough. (Have you considered giving your kids IOU's, as it were? Something tangible to let them know presents are coming can be nice, even if its just a slip of paper)

I know next year will be better for you-- you're way overdue for some good!
