I believe, should someone choose to write a story centered on incest, they should research it.I've been allowed some time on the computer and I'm glad that this is what I saw first. I really really believe in research, so much to the point where I know nearly all the careers of my f-list, or I make a point to find out, because ALL of them have experience in something I can use in a fic. That is very, very true -- we do know drama. Entertaining at times, I'll have to admit. Like living in EastEnders (er, you're American right? EastEnders is a British soap opera which owns my soul).

Like you, incest as porn does make me feel rather ill. The thought of it seems to me like we're trying to trivialise ordeal people have suffered through. However, you did bring up the Weasley twins which I completely forgot about. I have a few "twincest" icons on my computer, I've read a few twincest fics and I wasn't that horrified by them. As you say the power dynamic and age is so similar that I am not as horrified by it. Draco/ Lucius though to me is sickening as a PWP. The only way I could justify writing incest was if I was going to explore the topic ( ... )

Twincest hardly seems like incest: well written, where it is consensual, it doesn't squick me at all (whereas other Weasley-cest (even where the ages are very close) gives me that sour stomach feeling ( ... )
