Am I really the only in the fandom who's not full on an depressive episode with a side of hysterics after this movie...?
No, I'm with you! I thought it was great, and it did have a major downer ending, but that just seemed like the right thing to happen in the story, and also all the people who were disappeared are pretty obviously going to come back... even Gamora, I feel like she might come back. And yes, it's super impressive that the Russos were able to handle that many story elements!
that just seemed like the right thing to happen in the story Exactly. (For once. XD)
also all the people who were disappeared are pretty obviously going to come back... Exactly! :D It just doesn't work anymore. Actually, it didn't realy work already at Pietro Maximoff...
even Gamora, I feel like she might come back. Oh? *tentatively hopefull* ^^

I have had days to let my anger at the movie cool, but I still feel like I have to say, "I'm not depressed or hysterical. What I am is angry and alienated." I won't rain all over your enjoyment of the movie. I just want you to know there's at least one other kind of reaction to the movie. I haven't been this angry at a movie since Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End over a decade ago, and I quit having anything to do with that franchise cold turkey after that movie. If Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers want anymore of my money they have their work cut out for them, and no one to blame for that but themselves.
Hopefully next one(s) will be more to your liking and made by people you like. :)
I'm not a fan of how Marvel has chosen to handle Ant-Man in the MCU so I won't be bothering with that sequel, and my disgust at IW has me leary of the Captain Marvel movie. I suspect if I watch another MCU movie it won't be until after Avengers 4 has opened and I've heard what happens in it.
In my case it was PotC: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
I've never watched that one, but I heard they finally made some attempt in it to correct how AWE had pissed of people like me. Of course the person I heard it from categorized it as far too little too late.
I hope aletheiafelinea doesn't mind me sliding in to this conversation to ask: What angered you so much about the movie? I'm genuinely interested because I haven't seen much negativity towards it :) (If you don't want to post it on this thread, you could tell me via PN if you want, too.)
As for "attempting to correct how AWE pissed of people" - eh, they tried fixing some things but in the attempt ruined the double amount of others, so :'D Take that as you will.
Thank you for pointing me back this way! I actually had seen the post but intentionally skipped it due to spoilers, since I was planning to see the movie in theaters, then forgot to come back and actually read it :P
