Endgame?

Obviously, nothing but one big spoiler.

Well, Tony was right, it was a tearjerker.

I liked how slow paced it was, very little (for Marvel) fights to everything else. I still think the Civil War was better by having a more interesting conflict, but this aside, both felt somewhat alike to me: objectively good stuff, but a fan me has mixed feelings. Well, that’s some improvement; after the Civil War the fan me was pissed.

Where the Civil & Infinity War were more or less same level (respectively) all the way, the Endgame is a mix of wow and bleh, in separate pieces.

On the trashy/cheap/annoying side:
# Bru...lk first scenes; generally still not a fan.
# Clint vs the Asian mafia.
# Thor’s mostly everything.
# Quill vs Thor over the ship; owerdrawn. -.-

On the awesome side:
# Steve HailHydring the toy out of Rumlow & Co’s hands. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
# The following Steve vs Steve. “Bucky is alive.” Ouch, you bastard... (Perfect.)
# The opening scene. I had been guessing it, but I didn’t expect they’d show it. Besides, after he calls her Hawkeye, her name should’ve been Kate, not Lila; that’d be a nice tie-in, she even has the right look.
# Tony on a tiny chair. :) The youngest Starkette was a surprise. So was Pepper in a suit.
# Natasha with red roots, sandwiches and a “fuck this all” air. Just... something about all this picture. :D And who’d think she looks best when she stops caring. :) :) :)
# The furious Wanda vs Thanos; she was the only who really conveyed “you’re so doomed, dude”. Props, Olsen, you were scary.
# The army assembling. Well, a Pegasus was a little much... o.O Especially so mangy looking one. Does she even brush him? Nevermind, the more important question is why Bucky didn’t show up the first, if he was the first to go?! >:( Furniture again...
# Well, at least he got a tiniest something in the end, when he proves not only knowing Steve the best, but also himself being the most accepting and least selfish friend.

So, looks like I expected year ago - only the snapped came back, though Gamora, being the only who I expected not coming back, did after all, as a spare copy. Vision did not. And the temporary Ladies Squad was SO missing Natasha...

Speaking of which, hey, Clint very explicitly did NOT sacrifice Natasha, and yet he gets the Stone? Like, what, a consolation? It looks like the Stone is really bored there and wants out. “Eh, good enough,” whatever and however splats down there. Actually I expected some unexpected solution at the sacrificing part yet... I don’t know, both of them dying and waking up?

And speaking of paradoxes, what’s the point of Steve returning the blings, if he stays there afterwards, STILL altering the damn timeline! For one, Peggy had a husband and kids. He replaced him and if they had any kids, they were new ones. Not like I don’t understand him; it’s the universe that shouldn’t care about his wishes.

Speaking of which, him taking the hammer wasn’t as much a surprise as the shield breaking. :(

Speaking of which, the way of passing it to Sam was neatly solved, though he’s still not a Cap material to me. Not stubborn enough. :) But then, there’s only one Cap material, actually, and he’s apparently retired. Then again, if it was either Sam or Bucky, I’m glad I don’t have to see the latter in those gaudy colors, they fit him even less. XD

Speaking of which, who’d think the Brooklyn’s first dandy will end as unable to get in a proper suit even for a funeral, as the only one around. And it looks like supersoldiers do age after all? I wondered. Still, who’d think again that Bucky is going to outlive Steve after all...

So, was this all a happy end? A bitter one, certainly. Gone are who I don't want to, don't agree to.

And now I’m sitting and wondering what I’ve forgotten to write down. Maybe I’ll post a supplement or something...
