Mindblowing Art #1

Sep 30, 2012 20:31

Sometimes I'd like to share some art. Heh, 'share' seems so noble word for bouncing and squeeing 'Wheee, look at this!', especially that it's not my art, so what I actually want to share is squee.

Depending on your response, that is if you're interested beyond this entry, it can be a series, but I must warn it will be irregular. I'm sorry for that, but I won't manage it the other way. I can't promise you'll always like what you'll see, one of reasons being that good art not always is 'pretty' (some say it never is, but I don't agree). Instead, what I do promise is that it'll never be waste of your time. I hope so?

So, who's in? May I ask for a wave and call? :) Can be tentative, skeptical, and mumbled under breath. Just something to see whether this can interest anyone.

To give you the proper vernissage feeling, young wine and wee snacks are served at the entry's bottom, just by the reception stand for replies. And now, to the first artist.

Tomoko Shioyasu turns paper into lace and sea foam.

These are huge paper sheets, and the patterns are cut in them.

Here you can read about the artist and see more of her works. You can watch also an interview with her.

So. :) Here’s very young wine
here’s a wee snack

.................................and here is the reception stand. Anyone willing for more? No, no snacks. Art.
