This is a lovely meme, which I've come across
geekmama's journal, and fallen in love with the idea immediately. Do you want to join the play? :) If so, then...
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of Icon Squee!
Now, my icons which
geekmama picked out. Thank you for reviving the game, ma'am!
My default icon is the image of what my profile is in text. I've a cat soul, even if it means more snoozing than mystery. Technically, the animation is made of eight separate pencil drawings.
He is breathtakingly, purely, perfectly beautiful in moments when he looks Death in the face and sees him. No more masks, tomfooleries, shenanigans. And it's somehow fear and bravery, frailty and determination as well. The noose or the Kraken, Captain Jack Sparrow's show will go on and the Death can get him but won't bring him down.
The art icon is mix of my most often used tools. The camera isn't my item and photo, but my model. Pencils and the brush are my own, items and photo. The rainbow plume is a fractal.
Have you noticed this particular side of Jack's character? This peculiar, child-like... and absolutely charming inclination to examine, to peruse, to inspect, to try and test, with every sense. Sometimes he does it incidentally, sometimes for show, but very often he seems just distracted by things around him. And I fall in love with this concentrated expression of him, every time. And how many times he does it in the canon! There are six cases on the icon, but due of the LJ weight limit, I passed over at least three more:
- Pelegostos cuisine, that is the fingers necklace;
- Beckett's toy figurine on the Endeavour;
- the globe spiked with weapon on the Shipwreck Island.
The Pearl is the soul of unrestrainable freedom, but she's also unpredictable as her Captain. I love this scene and how she floats over sandy waves. Nothing can stop her, and let's diplomatically forget about crabs and little help of Her Goddessneess Mrs C. ;) They aren't visible here anyway.
So? Would you like to play? :)
