Went to the cinema to watch Thor yesterday. I was an enjoyable action flick. Then again there is something really cool about the 3 of the most important characters being Thor, Odin and Loki. Anyway, I liked Thor, too. Though, knowing mythology spoiled me a bit too. Like, I knew Nidhoggr without its name ever being mentioned (that was Nidhoggr, right?). And when Odin made his appearance on Sleipnir first thing I looked for were the extra legs. XD
Also considering Sif's mythological role, one has to wonder what she thought of the romance subplot.

It must have been Nidhoggr, what else could it have been. You're not the only one, my first reaction was to look at the legs of Sleipnir as well XD
Well one of the people I went with pointed out, that when Sif was telling about how Thor was coping with Loki's "death" and the girl being out of reach, she looked slightly jealous. I seriously hope they aren't going for that angle though.

I'm a little ambivalent on that angle. I'd like them to make a nod to those two being married in myth at some point, assuming they crank out a sequel to this one like all the other comic book-movies have.

I assume they will crank out a sequel. At least the Avenger movie is coming out, so Sif might be in that (Thor and Loki both have been confirmed). I do hope they make a nod to it; it is a rather important point after all. I just find jealousy plot lines tiring (possibly because I've barely ever seen it done well), so I hope they don't go for that.
