When EoT first aired, I thought, "What happened to Gwen? Is she still pregnant? Never mind that, what about all the others?" And OF COURSE they would ask Martha to take a look at it. Glad to know it fits with others' head-canon as well.

Thanks for the review!

Oh, wow, I really like this! You have also captured my personal canon for what happened to Tom pretty much exactly. I love both Martha and Mickey here, and all of the things inevitably simmering under the surface of their friendship, because of both their pasts. I... kind of want moar? I hate it when readers ask that though, so feel free to ignore my foolish begging XD

my personal canon for what happened to Tom

I always thought that was odd; for two seasons we've been told about Tom the doctor, then he's gone. I agree that the only way Martha would have left him is if he died somehow.

I hate it when readers ask that though, so feel free to ignore my foolish begging XD

It's not foolish at all! Actually it's rather flattering. True, I probably won't continue this story thread, but it's nice to know that it's wanted! Thank you for the review (and the bingo).

Interesting ideas - good stuff. Do you plan on writing a second part?

(Though I hope you don't mind me point out that you've got a "due" for a "do" in there. Also "rye" - Brits'd say "whiskey" or Scotch as "rye" is strictly N American...)

PS You might like to post this over on martha_mickey.

Not necessarily; Rye is Canadian Whiskey (or Whisky, but that's really academic as it's neither Irish nor Scottish) which , but it's used in different cocktails from Scotch, or Whiskey - or in some cases, in the same one. (Hence Whisk[e]y and Rye in the chorus of American Pie.) That said, it's got a pretty decent following in other commonwealth countries (New Zealand and Australia spring to mind), possibly because it may be faster to make and/or cheaper to buy, whereas it's assumed that if you care about Whisky/Whiskey then it's OMG MAJORLY EXPENSIVE CUDDLE IT AND LOOK AFTER AND CHERISH IT (brb, lusting after my Dad's collection...).

A Whiskey Sour is generally made with Rye, and a Manhattan has to be (as it's a particularly prominent prohibition-era drink that's been seeing a HUGE comeback recently), but a Rob Roy is specifically Scotch.

I appreciate the want for more, but no, I'm not planning a second part. Anything else would be a bridge from the disappearance of the Master to Ten's goodbye, which, to me, seems limiting. But it's a good idea for another writer to explore!

Thanks for pointing up the grammar mix-up. As for the nomenclature...I'm always a little skittery around it. I'll use common expressions like 'mobile' and 'lift' but anything else has been through the translation circuits. I realize that this can make some readers twitch and offer a cookie in compensation.

I was wondering where else I could post this; problem solved! Thanks for the read!

I'm rather upset that RTD never explained that. He, the master of throwaway lines. I'm glad this can be offered in place of that. Thanks for the read!
