it most definitely works. I found it fascinating. I really like looks into the doctors' mind (or doctor's mind?). :) He's truly so alien, yet he sort of tries to 'pass' for almost human, like he aspires to be human (despite his sometimes harsh words for humans). He's made himself an adopted human, but he's not and I love when we see that flicker of "different" in a way that works. This story worked.
