Okay so I have two he would DEFINITELY know and I am not sure about the others.

darianaclaw is a 6th year Ravenclaw. Charms and Transfiguration are her weak spots, though this year she only has Charms since she didn't do well enough on OWLs to take NEWT Transfig, so he could definitely help her out there. Dari is quite a flirt and se has a bit of a "whore" reputation at the school, though in reality she's not one. She just avoids serious relationships and likes snogging boys :P She's having a birthday party right now in craftynicodemus' journal, so Alex sould feel free to swing by and wish her a happy one ;)

bryantsawyer is my 7th year Hufflepuff. He's kind of a slacker, protective of family and friends, generally a good guy. They'd have at least seen each other around the common room.

As for my others, I have:

Not sure how well he'd know any of them.

I love the idea of him helping out Dari in Charms. I'm getting the feeling that they'd probably have a pretty friendly, comfortable relationship, although he probably wouldn't be making a move on her. Makes for a very distracting tutoring session, after all. XD

I bet Alex would get the impression that Bryant's a good guy, too--he generally has really high respect for people who put a lot of emphasis on family, though I dunno if he'd talk to him a lot in the common room, 'cause they probably wouldn't have much to say, Bryant being a slacker and Alex constantly pushing himself to the max.

Snaps, I dunno if he'd know the others, but thanks for the backstory with these guys. :D

And awesome, I'll have him drop by the birthday celebration-- probably in several hours when I am fully conscious again. :D

Oh, Dari HATES Charms, because she's not very good, so she would totally try to distract him with flirting. :D Playing hard to get will either make her lose interest or make her try all the harder to seduce the poor boy :P TeeHee.

I was thinking he may have met Bri, at least, in the library or on the grounds, since she likes to read a lot, too. They could have met in the library while both reaching for the same book. And Bri and Dari have probably both visited his father's shop a time or two as well. :)

Haha, I like that angle with Bri. Bookworms unite! It would give them something to start a conversation with, too, and once you get the ball rolling sometimes you just can't even shut Alex up anyway. :D

And a cute idea with Dari, too. It could be a CONSTANT WAR. XD

Seeing as they're in the same house and year, he has to know Dani (dani_littleton), a sixth year muggleborn Hufflepuff. She's incredibly sweet, but naive, and gullible as heck.. I think they'd get along, and since Dani sucks at Transfiguration, maybe she's asked him for help?

I doubt he'd know my other students, but I'm introducing them, anyway.

I like the idea that he knows Dani fairly well, and probably talks to her a lot, as I don't think he'd feel very shy in initiating a conversation with a person like her. He'd probably find her sweetness and her non-judgemental attitude very refreshing, and would probably be very defensive over her if he noticed she was getting hassled by anyone (aww, pushoverness and naivity = no good). He might even have a soft spot for her, now that I think about it. Who knows. But tutoring help! Good stuff.

Looked over other characters, and I don't think he'd know them either. But still, Hufflepuff friendship yay!

zak-reso is a 6th year Gryffindor, muggleborn. He's an annoying idiot who gets himself into ridiculous trouble due to not knowing when to shut up. He's also a bit of a junkie and a guitar player. He does a lot of random singing. I can see him asking for help in Transfiguration when they were younger, Zak was held back in 1st year and quite simply, fails at magic. I think they would get along well enough, Zak's a nice guy in general. Just a bit of an idiot.

tobias-kinsella is a 5th Slyth, halfblood. Doubt he knows him, otherthan a loudmouthed Puff :P

jojo-jenkins is a 7th Gryff, halfblood. Again, probably doesn't know him but then, he's generally friendly with anyone. So they might've had random conversations every now and again? *shrugs* Your call!

Yay, I'm sure he'd like Zak, and wouldn't have minded helping him out. Maybe they were Transfig partners on occasion in the first year, and Alex continuted helping out through second or third. :D

I see Tobias is excellent at Transfiguration. Alex probably has taken note of this, though hasn't talked to him personally.

He might've bumped into Jojo at a party or so. But, he probably doesn't know him.

Amorisa hangs around a lot out beneath a tree, and Alex spends a lot of time outside reading. Perhaps they've bumped into each other a time or two. I think he would probably at least like Amorisa, especially liking the idea that she's not a stereotypical hardcore-bitch-Slytherin. :D

Ooh, I like! If Alex let's Arisha go on and on about Charms and whatnot (nevermind if he's two years ahead and knows more than she does, haha), she'll like hanging out with him a lot. As for Will...well, he might've been meant for sixth year, but he's still really a fifthie. Soooo yeah, they can't have met in classes or such. If Alex loves spending time outdoors, they could've met there! Will loves just lazing around outside or painting or whatever. This --

I think Alex would probably do a lot of hanging around him in a way that's not really intrusive, not really forcing himself into whatever train of thought William might be following, but just kind of hanging out in a group without really having to do a lot of talking. Aww, I really like the Arisha--Charms Extraordinaire angle. I think he'd definitely respect her total adoration for the subject, and even if he knows more about it then she does, he probably sees her as an equal sorce of knowledge. He'd probably as her any questions he had on the subjech, even if she didn't know the answers. :D

Haha, for some reason I totally read your previous comment as that Will's a sixth year but was supposed to be a seventh year, or something. I FAIL. But I'm sure they'd probably still hang around with each other and stuff. Outdoor friends, yay!
