My 25th birthday came and went very quietly. It started at midnight and went until about 5am--constant unpacking and assembling new furniture. Mom and Dad were lifesavers. My new apartment is still in disarray, and I still have furniture yet to buy, but it's getting there

Good luck getting settled! Your apartment sounds cool, hopefully you won't have trouble putting all of the finishing touches on it.

My grandmother and all of my aunts/uncles on my dad's side live in Ohio, and I have many good memories from that state. A lot of people think it's boring, but I know exactly what you mean about the big sky. For some reason I really like it there.

The culture shock I had when arriving in the US could be summed up in cell phones. My ultra cute phone isn't compatable with the cell phone services here, it seems, and neither is any model that came after it ^^; The stores kept urging me to switch to what they had, but I clinged to mom's older model.
