A crab scuttles slowly across my path, and into a bunch of bushes by the base of a tree.

Yes. A crab.

A CRAB.

Nowhere near the ocean. Or water. Of any kind.

This planet is weird.

In my mind, he was escaping from a seafood restaurant. If you'd waited around any longer, you would have seen an irate chef with a cleaver sprinting after him. :)
