I love that the more times I read this, the wider my scope becomes. Succinctly done!

It truly is horrifying to confront the unending cost and exploitation wrought by our first-world lifestyles. But if freedom of others and the natural world is the price tag, so be it!
That em dash ending is such a gut-punch. The economization of misery continues! Such a searing decrial, put so succinctly. Awesome job, man!

Freedom is no virtue when only enjoyed by the precious few!
Thank you for your close reading, encrefloue.
And I'm glad that you appreciated the em dash. . . for some reason the whole thing didn't feel quite complete without it.

I like the imagery here, and the ending... it's true. Many of our luxuries and comforts come at the expense of someone else.

I suppose what really grinds my gears is when people get quite mad if someone points that out.

I get a beat-vibe, which I like. Short and to the point.

I'm glad a beat-vibe came through.
When it comes to poetry, I do tend to think that shorter, is more appealing--
