Me too, I really like him. As I tell him, if I didn't, I wouldn't have given him my correct phone number

I understand where your coming from. I would be acting like you are if that happened to me, but like you siad he might just speak to people on the phone in that manner because he works in a shop he might be used to it (talking to customers).
I have to say he might of given his number to the women (Hare Krishna's) and then thought about it afterwards and regretted it, and doesnt want to admit to himself that he made a mistake.
Everything will work its self out soon, he might still be trying to win your affections and thinks that some of his sercrets might put you off.

Well, he doesn't work with people because they irritate him too much, he works in the warehouse so they can keep him hidden away from customers in case he starts swearing at them in Dutch!

As for the giving his number out, is it worse for someone to think you are a little odd for handing out your number to religeous zealots or for your GF to think you are lying to her?
And he was talking to her like he knew her, the way I'd talk to you or Abbi, not in the fake-polite way you talk to people you don't know.

I know everything will be ok, but such an obvious lie makes me wonder about what else he is lying about that I haven't picked up on?
