Been re-watching Read or Die, and I just realized it's a mostly monothematic score! Yes, it's using the whole gekiban approach, pre-composed cues that I swear fight scenes are created to fit around, but it's dominated by one major theme. I haven't looked up the composer, but parts of it really remind me of the score to Mushishi. It's such a good
