Oh, no that sucks. Poor Alexa and poor Mommy. Hopefully she gets over them quickly without any complications. At least she has them while she's young, so she's extremely unlikely to get them again when she's older, which is a lot more dangerous.
Did you not do the chicken pox vax, or did she get vaxed and get them anyway? We only do certain vaxes...so either way, no judging :) Oh, and do you know if you have the immunities, so you can't catch it? One other thing, if she's been around any pregnant women in the last couple of weeks...make sure you let them know so they can get proper medical care...chicken pox during pregnancy is very dangerous.
she did get the chicken pox vax, so she only has chicken pox mildly. They said it's not going to get so bad. I had the chicken pox when I was a child, so I don't think I could get it again, at least I hope not!! lol
A friend of mine is pregnant and Alexa and her daughter have been playing all week. I called her to tell her to go and get checked, but she says she is not worried because she has already had the chicken pox too. Should she get checked anyway?
You're not likely to get it again once you've had it, but some people don't build up the immunities for whatever reason (just like some people manage to get the immunities just from being exposed to it and never actually getting the chicken pox). Your friend should get her dr to do a blood test just to make sure she has the immunities, unless she's had that done in the past. Better safe, you know?
