Second Anniversary (Sans Salina)

Today marks the second anniversary of for me and Salina. I miss her so much. I remember the first day we met. Our first encounter happened at IHOP. I was nervous because I was late. I knew Salina through the breastcancer community and only recently learned of her passing...
I was thoroughly shocked for so many reasons...
Aside from being on each other's Friend's list, we'd exchanged a couple of personal emails...
As we both fought the battle with breast cancer it always meant a lot to communicate with someone who understood...who had walked similar paths...
I've had some major health challenges in recent months and had lost touch with a few people...
To learn that a couple of those people are no longer with us has been difficult...
In the brief time that I knew Salina I came to learn how positive and upbeat she was...
Her faith was inspiring...
She was a diva and had no qualms about it...
I am saddened that we didn't get to know each other better...
I am blessed that we crossed paths in life...

My condolences to you and her family...
I'm sure it goes without saying...
She will be missed...

God Bless...

Nani,

Thank you for the words written for Salina! She was truly a gift from heaven. Despite her physical ailments, she never lost faith and continued to inspire others along the way. I am so grateful for her love and commitment. I waited 30 years for her and I'm thankful for our time although I wanted so much more. Although she is no longer on earth, her spirit lives on. She will always remain in my heart.

I pray that God blesses you with strength and healing. Continue to trust in Him and remember to love.

Sincerely,

Dwayne
