I was somewhere between pissed off and incredulous

Two customers were unreasonable at work today. Mostly people at my work are actually super nice, so when people are entitled arseholes, it really stands out. I work in a supermarket, by the way. I run the self-checkout area and sometimes serve at the Service Desk when it's busy, selling cigarettes and doing refunds and stuff like that ( Read more... )

rl: work, grr

I've been wondering what this lady did - how crazy! I do not understand some people AT ALL!

As a former grocery store clerk, front desk clerk and customer service worker as a whole, I understand your pain very well. People are rude as fuck and there is never any consideration for anyone else. It's always 'me, me, me!' and it's bullshit.

I also really hate people who use the self check-out for huge purchases. Most of the people who choose to use them never know what they're doing and can never actually figure out why the machine is telling them to do something. It's frustrating as hell to watch these people, to wait behind these people and to help these people because they just don't bloody understand.

Keep your chin up! And smile... because the more you smile at those assholes, the more unnerved they get. XD

By and large, our customers are actually super awesome, so when you get incident like this so rarely, they're sort of hilarious. But if you had people like this every day that would be so epically draining.

I don't mind it too much as long as the person is aware they have a trolley in a small space, and only uses their space. A lot of people are fine with this, and a lot of our people who bring trolleys are actually fine at using them too so they don't need too much help. I just wonder why they come through because most of the time it's way faster to go through elsewhere.

Oh man, people who don't look at the screen though. Holy shit. Something's not scanning, and they don't one think "Oh hey I'll look at the screen and see if there's any information there." so they're scanning, scanning and then they wave me over and say "This won't scan!" and on the screen you can see it's already scanned and the machine is waiting for it in the bag, and it's like come on. The screen isn't just there to add a splash of colour to the décor, y'know?

she. just. what WHY?!?!

i can vaguely (not really, but let's just pretend) understand her not moving the trolley for everyone else, but how can she feel so self-entitled about blocking off the entire exit so that someone in a mobility scooter is also stuck. like other people may be able to duck out another entrance if they can be bothered, but that other lady obviously did not have a choice... AND IT WAS FUCKING BUSY. ARGH. i don't get it at all. she should be banned from appearing in public.
