You can get something other than a roofless-crack hovel for that much?

Lucky.

...Possibly not. Wishful thinking on my part - I'm paying £16-18/night.

Now I remember why I hate London. You can stay in 5* luxury hostels in York for £10.

You wanna, like, hang out? :D

I can't help you with the non-crack-whore-house hotel problem, I'm afraid. I really have no idea. Sorry!

Suuuuuuuuuure.

I've sorted it - I'm in the red light district around King's Cross, apparently, so my mother thinks I'm going to get blown up. But considering the electrics in my house, I'm probably going to get blown up anyway.

I won't be staying out lte partying but we could do something during the evening, like?

I'm not really a late night party person, anyway - I'm very much a morning lark rather than a night owl :) But we could get together and maybe watch DVDs or something ridiculously fannish like that?

Or, we could just go to a pub or something? I don't really want to be trecking around London much because a) I am broke b) I will get lost and c)I have lots of work to do so I can't be out late.

However a pint or two never did no-one no harm.

First of all, lucky you for going to London. Secondly, if you're in a pinch, I stayed at WakeUp! London, which is near the Paddington Station. So it's near the tube, but not really near King's Cross.

I've heard of St. Christopher's (a hostel) but I don't know exactly where it's at.

Thanks for the info. I managed to find a place to stay across the road from the library I'm using so hopefully that will work out ok.

Ugh. London.

I'm gonna be in London from...er...tomorrow 'til at least the 8th, I think. So if you wanna hang out? I'll be working all day (blah), but I'm free in the evenings. And by free I mean: sitting in the flat watching Angel. *sigh*

Oh dear. Not Angel. Anything but that.

We could go for a pint at some random London pub or other? I dunno... I'm staying on Euston Road, is that anywhere close to you?

Are you near Euston or Euston Square station? I'm working in Russel Square, and I'm all travelcarded up, so I can come and meet you wherever. How's thursday for you?

Oh! And I meant to ask, how are you enjoying London?

The cheapest I've ever done is the £26 Travelodge rooms. You always know where you are with a Travelodge! (I have never stayed in a hostel since school. I am a profligate person.)

But I am JEALOUS of the British Library trip! It makes me wish I had actually ever had an oppertunity for real, researchy work . If only I had 3 years to spare, I would totally go to uni. Maybe when I'm 40. :)

I'm going to give you a ring perhaps tomorrow night, but you will probably have got that before you read this so... yeah...

Thanks for your support in the past few weeks btw. Now all the crazy is over I'm wishing you could be here. But we will devise a meeting soon!
