While reading the Googlenews computer generated headlines, I realized that the term, "gangbanger" is dangerously ambiguous...

Though perhaps I've just been reading too much Savage Love.

I have always found that phrase odd when used to describe ghetto warfare. When I (capital I) was your age, it had another definition entirely and was not used amidst polite company.

Oh how I adore Savage Love. In Ithaca, I would occasionally make a reference to one of his columns and be met with blank and horrified stares. Then I would try to explain the column, trying to make it sound perfectly normal and innocent to be reading about sexual deviants. Then they would look at ME like I'm some kind of deviant and start inching away. Fucking cloistered science nerds...grrr!
