184 tracks, 11.9 hours. Getting there.
Recently added: George Benson. Researching others.

Apparently sending out a stream of this playlist is verboten. iTunes used to allow it, if you were willing to install and set up an SSH tunnel on the receiving end, but then took that functionality away later. I looked into using Shoutcast but relaying it ( Read more... )

How many hours are you going for? I'm... hmm. I've got to dig into a few things (like Fleetwood Mac) but I'm sort of holding off because listening to some of this stuff gets me all verklempt and such. I need it to be nighttime, and I need to be alone. Billy Joel was bad enough with other people around!

Also: you know you want it.

Dude, I swear to god I have never heard that song before in my life. Isn't that wild? NEVER!

Cliff Richard was big in Europe in that era, and often sang duets with ONJ who, I think, had something like three simultaneous (parallel) careers. Maybe four. There was the Grease ONJ, the pop princess ONJ, the ONJ that Nashville tried to make their own ("Have You Never Been Lonely"), and then there was this other huge career she made for herself in Europe - TV specials, duets and the like.

But this was a bona fide American hit for Cliff Richard, and I swear I do hear it on the radio once in a while. So it qualifies, I swear it! :-)

"swearing" too much today. I'm at work and heavily distracted, so I'll leave all this for later. I have a new disco playlist for you that I never got around to posting last night.

I totally want to. I NEED TO. But I'm concerned that the super easy free version (Shoutcast) will be considered something I have to pay royalties for, whereas what I really want/need is a private station that is accessible offsite, like I can have on my LAN using Airport Express.

I mean, I'm not starting a business, here. I just want to listen to my existing playlist from potentially multiple simultaneous locations, utilizing a specific IP or address.

THERE MUST BE A WAY.

"Say It Isn't So" = much too funky for this list.

There are a few that are borderline uncharacteristic. But dude. Hall & Oates. C'mon now.

There are smooth, slow songs and fast, fun songs. But they're all soft and/or easy. Awww yeah.

I'm seeing a few Neils and a Young Rascals, but no Neil Young.

I just had to tell you that I spent an hour watching an infomercial for this collection lovingly hosted by Air Supply in a model home somewhere in the Valley (I'm guessing). WANT.
