But so what? Maybe we've been there, done that. Those wells have been explored, drilled, and drained by countless generations of eager college grads desperately seeking validation."
That, right there, is why I opted out of grad school. Thank you for writing this. I could never get settled with the idea that bearing witness to Loss and Grief with a camera should be my definition of art, and that's what school wanted from me. Documentation, not invention (and their definition of Documentation smacked of Exploitation to me).
