The pleasant side effect to having had a lot of work, and consequently many writing crises, over the past couple of weeks is that I have mostly been staying inside, in the warm, and catching up with a flurry of 2008 albums. Many of them are excellent, here are some sketchy initial thoughts with some youtubes and sendspaces.

Are the twins from the band On!Air!Library! by any chance? I remember really liking them, and they were definitely shoegazey.

Will check this out post haste! If you like the sound, there's a great On!Air!Library! song that basically sounds like the shoegaze "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Forget which it is, though.

What Lex doesn't tell you about the DOK album is that it has a whacking great sample of WHEN WILL I BE FAMOUS in the middle of it!

I said that! I can't work out whether it's a pitched-up sample or just some girl drafted in to sing that line though.
