life is seriously going down the shitter
so an update since the last post: life still sucks. Now I get to add that we are almost certain to not have enough money for my brother and i to go to college. loans will probably be the only way, or i scale back to 1 class a semester and hope for a full time job since the company i work for now with be terminating my contract in may. my grades in

Secondly, student loans won't kill you. Lawyer or Doctor at a prestigious university, I could see student loans being an issue, but like I said, if you can get them, from the government especially, and manage things correctly, they aren't a problem.
Now as for your mother's condition, I'm really, really, sorry to hear that. I do hope you'll pass along that I'm thinking about her. That will not be a fun time, and lack of work will suck, but this still doesn't have to be the end of the world.
Forgive me for saying it, but I think you need to take a step back and count the blessings. You have your health, precancerous means the odds are very good for recovery, you have a job for the moment, you have a girlfriend, you have friends who care for you, and I promise your parents have options open to them too. I've been through foreclosures, court-battles, and bankruptcy and the world is still spinning. Hang in there.
