you know I am sitting here in front of a computer at work, trying to learn the language we are programming in (C#). Its not bad. in fact its fairly easy to use....except it only works on windows :( I hate windows. The entire point of the Microsoft system is to make money. Because of this I switched to Apple Mac. As I think about this more I see ( Read more... )

1) Assuming you refer to the same girl that you broke up with, I'd say keep looking, my friend. If you refer to the other person I'm thinking of, well... that's a sticky widget now isn't it. Are you willing to risk a friendship for a chance at a deeper relationship, because that may very well be the situation if you pursue it.

2) I don't think you could be ruthless if you tried, and if you could be and not feel bad about it, we probably wouldn't be friends. Now should you be? I'm all for you being somewhat more assertive, but "cunning and ruthless" might be going too far.

And no one said you have to be dating, you know?

My issue is I am happy when I can be affectionate. You know the mood I have been in this past year. It is because of this very issue. Honestly, I don't think I could go through with risking my friendship with her. But what I said was a general statement, not directed at anyone in particular.

What I am trying to find out is if it is immoral to step in between two people to get what I want, or am I just a weak person. Not strong enough, not confident enough in myself to believe I even stand a chance with anyone. With my self-esteem approaching absolute zero, I have slipped back into a depressed state.

Morality is subjective, not objective. It's up to you whether or not it would be immoral or not. But I pose this to you: 1) How would you feel if you were in the other guy's shoes. 2) Are you looking out for the girl's happiness, or just your own happiness?

Those are rhetorical.

You are taking the high moral ground, and I for one approve. Be patient, but stay awake and your time will come. ;D

Now as for Mac vs. Windows, I won't pester you with this but I will say it once. Try Linux. It's not about greed or profits, and it really works. In fact, it works so well that it has a growing market share and many Windows applications can be run on it by installing the appropriate shim or environment.

thank you very much for your support

and I do run linux. In fact I am typing this up in linux. it can be a bitch to use but I still love it. I use my mac book as my central command, but linux is my desktop/server, that I constantly use while I am home.
