It’s been a long time, I know that. Last time I wrote, I was only in the middle of my hiatus. In December I flew to my dad’s in Seattle and took my first step towards my plan to start a new career, which is to be a certified personal trainer. It isn’t such a big thing, but it’s my backup plan to something bigger, which I will tell you someday, but

With this outlook, you really can't fail.
How old are you? Someone said you shouldn't figure out what you want to do with your life before you're 30, someone else said 35. I don't remember who these famous people were.
Sounds like you're right where you need to be.
I was like this a bit. I thought everything would always feel wrong after a while. I've lived in five different states in my adult life. I've moved dozens upon dozens of times. The first time I drove into this town (7 years ago!), before I even stepped a foot down I knew I was done wanting to move. About two weeks into my current (5-year!) relationship, I knew I never wanted to leave. This was also something I'd never felt. I didn't know it was possible for things to make sense. I thought people just settled. I'm glad I didn't.
Keep doing what you're doing, changing and everything.

SOUL DAMPENERS!! You're absolutely right! I'm also totally the same way. I love my parents and all, but damn, I just can't live near them! It was perfect being in Florida for college b/c my dad was in Seattle and my mom was in Paris.
Thanks for your 2 cents. You make me feel less crazy and that's sayin' a lot :)

Your awesomeness is an inspiration (seriously, I wish I were half as awesome as you). You have a very rich life and many people would love to taste that richness for themselves (I also think that freedom scares a lot of people too because they can't really wrap their mind around it as they are so used to the ball & chain status quo of settling into a daily grind).
I continue to send good vibes your way! :)
Wishing you all the best Lisa,
Bruce

Now, give us the good stuff. What kind of fun things have you been doing in Florida?

I can understand the guilt of movin' away, but ya know what? They'll get over it. I used to visit my family in Paris once or twice a year and I saw them more than the rest of the family who all lived within 15 minutes of each other! I don't think it's fair to make people live near their family or friends. The world is simply TOO BIG to do that. Where did you move from??
You're right about advice. I make sure I listen carefully to those who are more experienced, but there's just so much babbling I can take from family members who just don't get who I am. My dad and step mom use me as an example of a failure... just because haven't settled yet. If people can't separate who I am and who they think I should be, I just don't want to even bother.
Oh man, Florida has been awesome! Biking, beaching, kayaking, and just enjoying the fresh air. Life is just great right now. If only I can make the time to get some studying in!

Are you going to school in Jacksonville? What are you studying? Any idea on when you will be returning to Vietnam?
