For reasons beyond my ken, there is a half-eaten stick of butter sitting on my window sill. I didn't put it there. Caelyn has concluded that is an offering from the squirrels, demonstrating their acceptance of me as their god.

All Hail Alfy! Keeper of Acorns and Harbinger of the Endless Autumn, in whose grace there will surely be unnumbered birdfeeders for all!

I hopoe he realises this means he is expected to grant boons.

I'll say. Even at this very moment, there are thousands of good little squirrel children making squeaky little prayers to him. :D

But am I kind, loving god, or a angry, wrathful god? Is my housemate, who resents squirrels eating human garbage and thus avoiding having to hibernate, and who chases squirrels to give them exercise, my nemesis against whom I will defend them, or an agent of my wrath?

The butter might explain why I found a squirrel sitting on my window ledge earlier this term, making funny squeeking noises.
