For some strange reason, X has decided that clicking my middle mouse button should cause it to restart. (Also, the delete key takes screen shots.) This has lead to a number of accidents while using Firefox.

What it leads to is confusion far too early in the morning when the screen suddenly turns blank, leaving me wondering what's happening. The scroll whieel not working either is also annoying, but not as bad as it was when pressing up, rather than delete, would lead to attempted screenshotting.

I wish I could say something more helpful than wtf? I presume you've already tried creating a new xorg config file?

Looking at the logs, it seems that X was getting confused when it was seeing my wireless Logitech masquarading as a keyboard (probably due to its keyboard component that I'm not using these days). Replacing it with my trackball, if not fixed the problem, at least papered over it.

The delete->screenshot matter was actually my fault. A while ago X got confused about my keyboard and I tried reassigning a few keys back to what they're supposed to be. I think the print screen button was reporting itself to be delete, so that's what it ended up as.

It's a feature, not a bug! :D
